There’s nothing I love more than when the kids are specks in the distance. I mean this in the nicest possible way – and of course, only in a safe environment, with no strangers, roads or roaming bulls around. Usually, I’m lumbering along in the rear with my baby, yelling at them not to go too far ahead, but at the weekends, I let my husband hang back to have some toddler time so I can walk the kids properly. As soon as they saw this hill on the glorious Dunstable Downs, they were off, racing down it like mountain goats, with me stumbling behind them, trying to refrain from crying “Ooh, me knees!” They passed me coming back up, giggling with exhilaration, their eyes gleaming. I took this quick snap (managing somehow to make them both look like they’re flying) and chased after them – my beautiful boys, running wild.
Freedom and fun in the sunshine – perfect for blowing the cobwebs away and having some quality time together. Thanks for linking up and sharing your fun with Country Kids.
Thanks – yes, everything is much better outdoors!
Ah this is precious. Nothing better than going for a walk and tiring them out. There’s something about being outside and enjoying the sunshine on a family walk that I will never grow tired of! 🙂 x
I know – works every time!x
Fab picture hun! What a great place to go for a walk, we live in countryside, but it is a bit flat and boring (but probably better for your knees!) x
Yes, it was a new discovery! I prefer more of a gentle incline to get my view! x
Oh I love this post Jess, says everything that’s brilliant about the outdoors – as does the photo. Blowing away the cobwebs is just the best thing especially when the kids are having so much fun! Thank you for sharing with #whatsthestory
Thanks Charly! It’s outside good, inside bad with our family! x
Nothing better that a child running free (except maybe a sleeping child after a day of running free!)
Absolutely! Mine never seem to tire though!
I just loved this line, ‘There’s nothing I love more than when the kids are specks in the distance.’ I have a horrid head cold – you really cheered me up! X
