I was tagged in Oh So Amelia’s blogging year in review post by the brilliant Katie at hurrahforgin (thank you!). If you haven’t already, check out her fab blog – I love her hilarious, closely-observed posts on life with two tiny males. Hard to choose, but my favourite posts at the moment are Christmas List Success Rates and An Open Letter to Postman Pat, where she pulls up the friendly postie on his blatant shortcomings. I would add – did you see how, in the Christmas Special, where Pat not only fails to deliver his parcel on time but misses his own son’s nativity, he once again gets off the hook and pretty much gets the credit for the mysterious appearance of parcels under the Christmas tree. Unbelievable!

1. Your top 5 new favourite blogs to read in 2013 (I would also love you guys to answer the questions if you have time).
Make Me An Earth Mother – Lovely lady, hilarious and versatile blogger. My faves of hers to date are: A Monster Ate Me and Is it just us or is getting out of the house mission impossible?
Eeh Bah Mum – Totally hilarious.
Wife, Mum, Student, Bum – Katie (Hurrah for Gin) also chose Kerrie, but she makes me laugh too.
Juggling Jelly – fab concept for a blog, Sarah sketches on her IPad ingenious and tongue-in-cheek baby inventions, such as the breathing bed, to feign maternal presence: The Bod-E-Bed.
Verily Victoria Vocalises – yep, slow on the uptake of me, I know, but, without meaning to sound like a stalker, I’m glad I’ve found you, Victoria!

4. What would you like to improve (if anything) on your blog next year?
I’m desperate to give my blog’s appearance a makeover and make it much more user-friendly and easy to navigate. I’m a bit of a technological Fumbledore, so progress is rather slow and frustrating.

6. How often do you post?
I post at least once a week; for a while I was doing two or three a week but then I noticed these people round my knees saying, “Er, mum? While we’re young?”

Cleaning Up Chunks – A Mother’s Glory My inaugural post, and one which I think completely sums up my blog, and, indeed, motherhood: even clearing up sick has a funny side.

8. Name one thing you would be doing if you weren’t typing this post right now.
Being a prepared mother. Yes, blogging is the latest in a long line of excuses for not laying out the uniform and peering ahead into the calendar.

10. What have you loved the most about blogging this year?
Instead of sniggering to myself – why is there never anyone around when something funny occurs to you? – I wrote my first post, with the thought that I’d be happy if it made one other mum laugh. So I’m delighted when more than one person, to whom I’m not even related, enjoys my posts. To ‘meet’ them and read their work too is just fab.
